Painted in 2019, They’re Off is an original painting by Dee Taylor in Pop Art style, and available from Equestrian Art International.

It depicts the start of a flat race with racehorses bursting from the starting gates.  One particular ‘novice’ horse unfamiliar with the routine is seen startled by the noise made by the automatic gates opening as one.  His more experienced stable mates seek to reassure the novice having previously experienced similar reactions to ‘the start’ themselves.
