A painting in oils of ‘Dancing Brave’s’ famous victory in the 1986 Prix de L’Arc at Longchamp in Paris, which the readership of The Racing Post voted as ‘the greatest race ever’, has been completed by artist Jane Braithwaite SEA. Jane has used one of the very few iconic photographic references available of the race, which shows the incredible acceleration of Dancing Brave overtaking Bering (2nd) and Triptych (3rd) near the finishing line.
Dancing Brave was in the words of the late Pat Eddery, his jockey, the best racehorse he ever rode and following his victory in the race, Dancing Brave was given a Time Form rating of 140, the same as the mighty Frankel.
Jane Braithwaite SEA, is a three time winner of the Cuneo Medal, the most prestigious award given by the Society of Equestrian Artists of Great Britain.
The painting is featured on Jane’s page on the website and is available to purchase from Equestrian Art International
