FAMOUS ARTISTDee Taylor

Dee’s career along with his art has always been unorthodox.  A natural artistic talent as a graphics illustrator won him a dream job in the glory days of British advertising where he carved out a career heading up a group of creative/design companies in London’s Soho and Covent Garden.

Like most creative people in the highly-charged advertising industry in the 70’s and 80’s, Dee harboured a burning ambition to make painting rather than illustrating his full time goal.   He decided to go back to college and gained a BA Honours in Fine Art in 2009.  While studying for his degree at Kent’s School of Art and Design he decided to make Kent his home and moved into his own studio in Folkestone’s thriving Creative Quarter.

Dee is a painter who specializes in pop and contemporary culture.  He is inspired by the great American 20th century pop art icons such as Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol.  His work has been exhibited not just in UK galleries but also across the globe in Washington DC and St Louis in the US, Paris and Ontario.

This is the first collaboration between EAI and Dee to produce a series of equestrian-themed pop art paintings inspired by the style of the legendary Roy Lichtenstein.
